A grand Victorian terrace re-visioned with a contemporary makeover .
My client needed a home suitable and conducive to their busy family lifestyle .
We renovated the kitchen to accommodate a keen ‘mother cook’ & a vibrant family that connects around meal times . We extended the benchtops and storage .Joinery was detailed with a gloss soft green which adds an organic element whilst maximising a feeling of lightness and space connecting the exterior with the interior .
The formal lounge needed to look gorgeous but also be a room where the family could relax .The vintage European day bed with rattan arms ,was a great find and upholstered in a sumptuous dusty pink and scattered with cushions it has become a family favourite .We sourced large floor rugs to add warmth to the original timber floors
There were a few special Art pieces but we needed more to suit the space. The collection is an ongoing work in progress
The entrance was important We wanted to 'show it off' the exquisite character of this terrace whilst adding contemporary aesthetics .We designed a console with sculptural curves and finished in a splendid gloss mint .It has become a great welcoming statement
For the master bedroom we sourced a vintage Parisian armchair from the Moulin Rouge set and reupholstered it a neutral twisted yarn chenille fabric .The column bedhead was designed in a mint linen .Two night tables feature curved front ,double drawers and finished in a high gloss .Night wall lamps were chosen to be directional , streamlined and finished in an aged brass .The large floor rug added richness in colour introducing soft pinks , greens , blues and neutrals .All lighting in the bedroom was updated with Italian Murano glass pendants . The large mantlepiece mirror bounces light and adds a regal presence
We maximise storage ,designing joinery for all four bedrooms. We chose quality timber veneers and finishes that enhanced the elegant spaces and reworked the cornices .The joinery features curved ends with open shelves for statement pieces
The workspaces have new extensive joinery , meeting the functional criteria whilst ticking the refined box .
We created a new bathroom on the second floor landing for the three boy’s rooms . What is small in size was made up by the height of the 3.2mt ceiling and the full size skylight which allows a wonderful shaft of light .Herringbone gloss tiles help create an illusion of a larger scale . The bathroom works perfectly as the fourth.
Dream client & what a fabulous team builder, joiner & electricians.
