Kathy McKinnon is highly respected in the magazine and advertising worlds as an inventive stylist and art director. She has numerous credits for her work on award-winning print campaigns, TVCs and music videos and for many years was a regular contributor to Good Weekend Magazine’s ‘Trend’ page. With a love for, and extensive experience in, eclectic, retro-modern and contemporary design she is well-known in the industry for her ability to bring highly original and magical concepts to life.
In recent years, Kathy has expanded her business to include interior design projects. Working closely with her clients, she explores innovative and imaginative design concepts, and combines unique fixtures and furnishings to help them to realise their dream interior.
Kathy’s elegant and smart design solutions include all stages and elements of her clients’ projects – from concept development, project management, mood boards, space planning, plans and perspective drawings, to furnishings and finishes, art sourcing, colour consultation and custom-made furniture.
However large or small the job, Kathy uses her creative approach and attention to detail to take an existing space and transform it using materials and accessories to maximise its full potential. She draws heavily on inspiration from her overseas travels, and works with a hand-picked team of artists, craftsmen and specialist contractors to help her create bespoke features and unique finishes.
Passionate about her work, Kathy delights in bringing her expertise to a brief. Her extensive book of industry contacts enables her to add unique touches to each project and her sophisticated yet simple designs, matched with her legendary sourcing skills, save her clients time and money, and get the best possible outcome.
